30496 QLD Course in Operating Load-shifting Equipment

Unit of competency OHSCER207A Operate a Forklift Truck

All assessments must be booked after all training is completed , WH&S Qld require all Assessors to log in 7 days prior to assessments (this WH&S requirement will be starting soon)

There are no specific entry requirements to this course however regulatory authorities do have minimum age requirements to meet licence regulations within their jurisdiction i.e. 18 years of age. Students must not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Where necessary the RTO will provide assistance for learners who require additional support. Appropriate Personal Safety Equipment (PPE) is required and includes Safety Boots, Safety Glasses, Gloves and Safety Helmet.

  • Theory behind the safe operation of a Forklift
  • OHS Legislation and Compliance
  • Hazard identification and site evaluation
  • Training DVDs
  • Pre and Post Operational Checks
  • Correct Procedures for Forklift Operations i.e. speed and stability of load etc
  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment
  • Working in A Pallet Racking System
  • Completing the training Logbook (work based Training)
  • Full Theory and Practical Assessment with a 7 day book in for WH&S (believed to be starting in June 2012)
